Hot Sale Electric Actuated Bellows Sluice Gate Valve for Marine Ship Fluid Control
Product Description
Hot Sale Electric Actuated Bellows Sluice Gate Valve for Marine Ship Fluid Control
Product Description
1. Product Overview
A gate valve is one of the most widely used industrial on-off pipeline valves. It controls fluid flow by lifting or lowering a wedge or parallel gate plate to fully open or fully close the pipeline passage. Gate valves are strictly designed for full open or full closed working conditions, not for flow regulation. Thanks to its straight-through full-bore structure, it has become a preferred isolation valve for petroleum, chemical, power, water treatment and long-distance pipeline systems worldwide.
2. Core Working Principle
The valve stem drives the internal gate plate to move vertically. When fully open, the gate completely exits the flow channel, forming a straight, unobstructed pipeline bore with almost no flow resistance. When fully closed, the gate closely fits the valve seat to achieve tight shut-off and block fluid medium completely.
3. Main Product Features
• Full Bore & Straight-through Design
The inner channel is consistent with the pipe diameter without shrinkage or bending. It ensures ultra-low pressure drop, smooth fluid delivery and allows pipeline cleaning tools to pass through directly.
• Excellent Sealing Performance
Adopts wedge self-sealing or parallel double-seat structure. Hard seal and soft seal optional, achieving zero leakage under rated pressure, suitable for strict shut-off requirements.
• Diversified Structural Types
Available in rising stem and non-rising stem designs. Rising stem valves show open/closed status visually; non-rising stem valves save installation space, ideal for limited vertical space scenarios.
• Wide Material & Standard Coverage
Supports WCB carbon steel, stainless steel (304, 316, CF8, CF8M), ductile iron and other materials. Compliant with GB, ANSI, DIN standards, matching PN/Class pressure grades.
• Multiple Driving Modes
Equipped with manual handwheel, gear operation, electric and pneumatic actuators, adapting to manual operation and automatic intelligent control systems.
4. Basic Functions
• Pipeline Isolation & Full Shut-off
The core function is to cut off or connect fluid flow, safely isolating pipeline sections for equipment inspection, maintenance and system overhaul.
• Long-term Stable On-off Control
Suitable for pipelines that remain fully open or fully closed for a long time, maintaining stable system operation without frequent switching.
• Adaptation of Multi-media & Multi-condition
Applicable for water, steam, oil, natural gas, chemical medium and low-corrosive fluid, working normally under high temperature, high pressure and conventional industrial environments.
5. Wide Applications
Gate valves are universally applied in industrial and municipal fields:
• Oil & gas transmission pipelines and petrochemical plants
• Thermal power plants, boiler steam and water supply systems
• Urban water supply, drainage and sewage treatment projects
• Fire protection pipeline systems
• Marine engineering and ship piping systems
• Chemical, pharmaceutical and metallurgical industrial pipelines

FAQ
1. What is the difference between PN and Class pressure ratings?
Answer: PN is the pressure rating used in European standards (e.g., DIN, GB), typically measured in bar (e.g., PN16 stands for 1.6 MPa). Class is the rating used in American standards (ANSI/ASME), such as Class 150. They cannot be converted simply because their reference temperatures and material strength curves differ.
2. How to choose between Stainless Steel 304 and 316?
Answer: SS304 is a general-purpose stainless steel suitable for water, oil, gas, and non-corrosive media. SS316 contains Molybdenum (Mo), which provides superior resistance to chloride corrosion and pitting, making it ideal for marine, chemical, or highly corrosive environments.
3. What are "Soft Seats" and "Metal Seats"?
Answer: Soft Seats use elastomers or plastics (like PTFE/Teflon). They provide excellent sealing (Zero Leakage) but have lower temperature limits (usually <200°C). Metal Seats involve metal-to-metal contact, offering high temperature and pressure resistance and durability against wear, though they may have a higher allowable leakage rate compared to soft seats.
4. Can NPT and G threads be used interchangeably?
Answer: No. NPT is an American Standard Taper Pipe Thread with a 60° thread angle. G is a parallel pipe thread (commonly British BSPP) with a 55° thread angle. Forcing a connection between them will result in seal failure or damage to the threads.
5. What is the difference between a Swing Check Valve and a Lift Check Valve?
Answer: In a Swing Check Valve, the disc swings on a hinge, offering lower flow resistance; it is commonly used for large-diameter pipelines. In a Lift Check Valve, the disc moves vertically along an axis, offering better sealing but higher flow resistance; it is typically used for small-diameter pipes.
6. Why do ball valves get damaged easily in a half-open position?
Answer: Ball valves are designed for full-on or full-off service. In a half-open position, the high-velocity flow strikes the exposed parts of the ball and seats, causing seat erosion or "wire drawing" on the ball, which shortens the valve's lifespan. For throttling, use globe valves or control valves.
7. What are Full Bore and Reduced Bore ball valves?
Answer: A Full Bore ball valve has a port diameter equal to the pipe's internal diameter, resulting in minimal flow resistance and allowing for "pigging" operations. A Reduced Bore valve has a smaller port than the pipe ID, which is more cost-effective and suitable for systems where pressure drop is not a critical concern.
8. What are the common causes of internal leakage in valves?
Answer: The primary causes include:
(1)Impurities (such as welding slag or sand) trapped on the sealing surface;
(2)Erosion or wear of the sealing faces;
(3)The valve not being fully closed;
(4)Incorrect selection (e.g., pressure or material exceeding limits).
9. How to choose between Double Acting and Single Acting (Spring Return) pneumatic actuators?
Answer: Double Acting actuators require air pressure for both opening and closing and are more economical. Single Acting (Spring Return) actuators use springs to automatically reset the valve to a "fail-safe" position (Open or Closed) upon loss of air pressure, making them ideal for critical safety applications.
10. What are the common certifications required for valve exports?
Answer: Common certifications include ISO 9001 (Quality Management), CE (European market access), WRAS (UK drinking water safety), and MTC (Material Test Certificate) for traceability.
